Jet Now Beta – an exploratory proposal to test Jet's drone delivery service

This product has been envisioned in a scenario where unmanned drones can be legally used in the US for commercial deliveries – and where utilizing them would make financial sense. 

The following are some assumptions I'm making that, if validated, would indicate this proposal is worth pursuing.

  • A significant amount of Jet's customers are located within 5 miles of a fulfillment center.

  • A significant amount of those customers opt for the fastest delivery.

  • The items these customers buy, and a significant portion of the inventory in these fulfillment centers, meets the requirements for drone delivery.

Who are our target customers?

  • Existing Jet customers located within 5 miles from Jet's fulfillment centers.
  • New users looking for instant delivery.

What do they need?

  • To filter for items that are eligible for instant delivery.
  • To purchase items that are eligible for instant delivery.
  • To get notifications about the delivery of their purchase.

A delivery system from Jet designed to safely get packages up to 5 lb. to customers in 30 mins or less

Customers must be located within 5 miles from our fulfillment center.

Drones use real time camera vision to locate landing mat provided in advance.

Filter Feature

  • A filter for instant delivery would be added to the mobile app.

  • For the beta launch, to improve discoverability of this new feature, the instant delivery filter would be placed directly above the shopping gallery.

  • Notifications will be linked to the mobile app where customers can find more information about the delivery.
